Live professional box is finally back on BBC Primetime TV. On Saturday 25 OctoberFrazer Clarke and Jeamie TKV will fight for the British heavyweight title At the Vaillant Live Arena in Derby. This is the first fighting night in the new BBC Sport – Boxxer agreement, which streams free Bbc two (8–10 hours) and with the full bottom map on Bbc iPlayer.
The Lonsdale belt is not a throwaway. It’s the same price Henry Cooper, Lennox Lewis, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua once fought. Now Frazer Clarke – Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medalist – and Jeamie TKV of Tottenham are acting for their crack at the British heavyweight glory.
BBC throws heavyweights back into the living room
Clarke knows the belt well. He came within a distance in March 2024 when he fought Fabio Wardley against a bloody draw on the O2 British, Commonwealth and WBO European titles that night. He left frustrated, but alive in the mix.
TKV’s path was also messy. His last British title attempt against David Adelee ended in an referee decision that made many of their heads shake. He was ahead and sailed, until one whistle overturned the screenplay. Now he comes back to settle the scores and clean the belt.
Frazer promised knocking out, Jeamie promises war
Frazer Clarke:
“It’s surprising to head on the BBC. So many eyes, so much on the line. I’m fragrant now. I traveled, took my lumps, learned from it. Jeamie will not hear the final bell. I’m going to win and make a statement – straight through him. ‘
Jeamie TKV:
“I’ve slept before – mistake. After the controversy of the last fight, I am hungry than ever. It does not go the distance, 100%. We’re going to war. He won’t handle it. ‘
BBC sports boss Alex Kay-Jelski calls it “a historic moment” and promises to reconnect the sport with a new generation. Ben Shalom from Boxxer says it’s “impossible to call”, with two warriors and the nation watching for free.
Take me
It is smart of Boxxer and the Beeb. Finally, free box on big TV. No PPV Circle, No Subscription Gate – Only Heavy Weights That Discard Learning Where You Can Convert Nan Strictly. Clarke is the favorite and now looks the lake polished pro, but does not pretend to be bullet. He was tested, he was dragged. TKVs have uncomfortable tools, can switch the rate, and he is bitter about the nobility mess.
If Clarke learned from the Wardley War, he probably stops TKV. But if he is flat or careful? TKV could steal it. Either way, good move for the sport. Boxing has been hiding behind the pay walls for too long – let’s see if the comfort is back on BBC Two on Saturday night.
