Creating perfect contact depends a lot on the way you put the spine at the address. That sounds simple, but makes the whole difference. Fortunately, I have a trick.
In short wedge shots, it is best to start the lower ball. The fresh contact you need to do this is easier to achieve when your weight favors your lead leg to the address. (Most players support back backas they should with a driver.) So put it properly from getting.

As you stand over the ball, reach your lead arm and touch the top of your lead knee (1). You will need to bend the spine slightly toward the target to help you do this. Perfect! Embrace it and keep the corner from start to finish (2). At the top, do the opposite: reach down with your trail hand and touch the outside of your knee knee (3), making your back bend a little away from the target (4).
This position puts you on a powerful strike up, creating starting and more carrier than you’ve ever thought possible.
