Welcome back to Monday’s end, where is FOOTBALL Season of the DP World Tournament. To the news!
Golf things I like
Everything that comes Rory.
It looks easy, in difficulty. Predetermined. from course Rory Mcilroy Won Amgen Irish Open. He was the best player in the tournament. He is the island’s biggest golf player. It is only natural that he would be a champion from his open home.
But actually doing that? That took a bird bird by surrounding the cup no. 13, coming out all the way to go out And then getting back inside. It took a stroke in No. 15 hung impossible on a particularly friendly strip. It took an eagle kick with 28 feet in the 72nd hole, a 1-in-10 or more for the benefits that were immediately joined by Mcilroy’s pronounced wrap. It took a water ball in the third hole of the Play off from its opponent. And it STILL Got a third consecutive bird to win.
Last year At the same event, Mcilroy lost a short kick for Eagle in holding 72 and left a heartbroken loser. That came after him SH.BA Open Losswhich included numerous losses made by you, plus another edition up and down by his opponent. This came after a decade of narrow calls in large championships, the chapter in the anxiety chapter.
There is an alternative timeframe where that horror story would have continued this season. Where Jj spaun punishments Finding the water. Where Justin RosAccess shot at the first hole of the Play off on the masters grab the slope and nest in the last place instead of vice versa. And where, to catch all, Eagle Heroic Eagle and Mcilroy on K Club on Sunday lips instead of finding the bottom.
The difference between that version of events and this is impossible for a few. An inch issue widespread over the months. In the country? Golf gods borrowed from Mcilroy for a decade-plus and they are finally paying. Everything is coming. At this stage of his career, he says the most useful moments come to iconic tours in iconic countries. This year he has been won at Pebble Beach, TPC Sawgrass, Augusta National and now in his open home. He has played three play -off and won three play -off. That’s good things. The best of all? Mcilroy landings seem to help him enjoy the heights.
“I thought it would be a nice return of the return, I was definitely going home with a green jacket and everything, but that was absolutely extraordinary,” he said after the round, looking out in a crowd he had not left yet. “This has exceeded all my expectations. Only so, so happy I could play as I did this week for everyone and win.”
He started his interview on TV shouting fans. And he began his oppressor after the round by screaming from his cadad, Harry Diamondwho would pull for a 16-year-old Mcilroy in his first Ireland open two decades ago.
“As an Irish golf player growing up, one of those we always wanted to win is Irish open,” Mcilroy said. “I played my first Irishman open at Carton House down on the road 20 years ago in 2005 with Harry in the bag, so it was a very delightful trip since then. Yes, just amazing.”
Look at them now.

Winner
Who won the week?
Rory Mcilroy He won for the fourth time this year, claiming his second career Irish Open.
US Walker Cup team sloping Team Britain and Irelandwinning 8.5 of the 10 possible points in Sunday session in single To close the match 17-9. The victory was fifth straight for Americans.
Cypress He was a great winner, not that he cared; Cypress Point will be good whether we are enjoying it on our television. But we got that opportunity.
Not winning
Some notes on the players approaching:
Joakim Lagergren, Sunday’s play -offer was encouraged by his game, but was upset by the end after he came inside the Mcilroy’s defeat on the house.
“This is a difficult to swallow. I really thought I had it there today. Undoubtedly the minus 17 posting going to the club (to lead two) could have been enough,” he said, describing life in front of Mcilroy’s eagle.
“Played really well even on the play off. Hit a 5-Heated strong in the last (Play off holes), but it got a terrible bounce. It is a meter from being dead in the hole. So it’s hard.”
And the GB & I Captain team Dean Robertson He insisted he is optimistic that his side may be competitive in Lahinch next year. “It will not be easier; it will be just as difficult. But they probably have talent, and with little confidence and a little more growth in their careers, then Lahinch could be a really exciting match,” he stated.
Short
Five autumn season scenarios.
This week’s ProCore Championship begins the PGA Tour autumn season (FedEx Fall, they call it), a mini-season with seven shifts in which they will shorten the card holders in the first 100, as the tournament becomes increasingly cut into its borders. Here’s what we are looking at:
1. ProCore training camp
Because Procore is the only PGA Tour event between FedEx Cup Play Off and Ryder Cup, Team USA has come down to Napa, Calif. To shake off any competitive rust before their journey to Bethpage Black within two weeks. Ten of the 12 players will be competitive while Liv’s Bryson dechambeau reported to be in the city for a team dinner, such as team captain KEEGAN BRADLEY. Team USA’s appearance means a beautiful procore bonus, which may not have been waiting for world no. 1 et al when he agreed to sponsor a fall event.
2. Rookies in the bubble
Rasmus Hojgaard It’s on the European team of Ryder Cup but is actually not sure of full status at PGA Tour next season at No. 85 in FedEx Cup; It will be interesting to see which events he plays after Bethpage in an effort to increase that final rank. He and Jesper Svenson (No. 110) are among the DP graduates in Tour World struggling to hold their cards after doing it in Top Tour last year.
3. Top 60 carries some sense
You have been forgiven if you have not memorized what is “Aon 10”, and don’t worry if you don’t know the formula at all. But at the end of the season 50 best from this year’s FedEx Cup (already locked inside) plus no. 51-60 (still in the influx) will remove it in the first two signature events of 2026. This is particularly tantalizing due to places: Pebble Beach and Riviera Country Club will make for a back-back iconic.
4. Big names from the first 100
Players who end only outside the 100 first will start abundant beginnings in 2026, but still – nothing is guaranteed. This means higher shares for high profile players as Matt Wallace (No. 92), Joel Dahmen (No. 93), Harry Higgs (No. 112), Thorbjorn olessen (No. 120), Zach Johnson (No. 123) and Matt Kuchar (No. 127).
5. Return to Utah.
I am a simple man, which means the wonderful visual of Black Desert Resort, the host of the Utah Championship Bank, are more than enough to make me eagerly tuned. Another competitor: wild, unpredictable winds of the Butterfield Bermuda championship.
Ryder Cup Watch
We are almost there
There will be much more to say as the cup approaches, but this week it is worth monitoring the form of team members as they face full fields against players who envy their positions who were on the outside searching inside; THINK Maverick Mcnealy in napa or Matt Wallace in Wentworth. This will also be our last look at the US team in pre-Bethpage will allow Captain Keegan tour weigh on Thursday-Friday, for example?
A swinging thought
from Padraig Harrington.
We can probably quote Paddy every week in this section; We can certainly not miss the opportunity to enter his wisdom during the Irish open week.
From Harrington: “Tiger said it, and he is so right – Tiger said he could win with his game B. If you THINK You can win with your B game, your game A appears. If you think you need your A game A, your B game appears. It’s hard. ”
A big question
Will we see Bryson Dechambeau locally in Silverado?
There is only one liv golf player in the US Ryder Cup team but the fact that is Bryson dechambeau – And the fact that the US team is all going to the team’s connection to a PGA Tour event – has the tournament in a pickle. Relations with tournament, at least at the player level, have been warmed somewhat in recent years. The tournament wants the American side to play well. And Dechambeau is one of the biggest stars of the game. But he also left for the rival league, he took legal action against the tournament and it is difficult to include them all under the carpet. The question, then: Will Dechambeau push the envelope by continuing the basics in the process? Or will it decide in a low place and start a grill for the felas in the rented team home? My assumption is the latter; In the context of this team competition, I don’t think someone involved wants extra distraction. And Dechambeau knows his way around a steak.
One thing to see
Bamberger in Cypress Point.
Three of the legendary Golf’s great figures colliding here: Michael Bamberger, Sam Reeves and the point of the Cype.

On Monday finish the headquarters.
There is a cold in the air. There are leaves in the ground. And there are high school players in green practice. The days are precious. But aren’t they always? Life is good.
We will see you next week!
