New York –Novak Djokovic Has enjoyed high times in the US Open.

These days, Grand Slam King is smelling something much stronger than success in the lit meadows – and he says “this is blown up”.

The four -time US Open Djokovic champion marks the smell of marijuana has grown so widespread in glowing meadows, sometimes he feels like he is playing in a greenhouse.

“You can really smell the wind. It’s not like you can lose it,” Gjokovic told the Serbian media. “Some people are more concerned than others.

“I’m not even a fan of wind, it is blown up. But it is allowed here and you have to accept it. You can feel it anywhere, from the basics of training to the courts where we play our matches. So it is.”

New York State legalized the use of recreational marijuana in March 2021 (not any of the tennis team has now gone green) and some players, including Djokovic, Casper Ruud, Maria Sakkari AND Alexander ZverevThey have noticed tennis in meadows ever lit like a show of smoke in a Ganja game.

One reason is that the US Open is built in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, one of the largest parks in New York City. While you will not see fans outside the stadium walking around the hits of bong swelling, it is not uncommon to smell the weeds or see the people passing through the park passing a knot as they walk.

There is a strong NEPD presence around the National Usta-Billie Jean King Tennis Center, but marijuana is legal in New York, cannabis distributors are common in the city and some fans smoke before entering NTC bases.

Casper Ruud, who reached the US Open Mixed Doubles Final Partnership IgA Swiatek, said the smell of weeds is the “worst” part of his annual open experience in the SH.BA

“For me, it’s the worst thing in New York,” the media told the media. “The wind is omnipresent, even in the courts. You have to accept it, but it’s not my favorite smell.

“It is quite irritating to play, get tired and a few meters away, someone is smoking. There is nothing you can do about it unless the law changes, but I doubt it.”

Given tax revenues, the New York state generates cannabis distributors and the fact that smoking is so common inside and around the New York City is unlikely to change laws.

Court 17, which is near the park, and the Grandstand court which is adjacent to the Grand Central Parkway and a sidewalk passing through the Park to the US open gates, are two of the courts that players say they may have occasionally.

A few years back, Alexander Zverev famously said that court 17 winds as “Snoop Dogg Living Room”.

Of course, Buzz US Open brings the festive spirit to fans.

If you have visited the US Open in recent years, then you know that New York fans are a thirsty bunch.

More than 556,000 servings of Vodka Gray Goose Vodka honey beverages were sold in the 2024 tournament by Usta-an increase of 23.5% a year earlier-resulting in a record of $ 12.8 million in sale.

Maybe one day, Usta, diligent in the last growth, will partner Snoop Dogg, Mike Tyson or Ricky Williams in the sale of cannabis -infected drinks to bring buzzing fans without the poor smell that irritates some players.
