Taylor Townsend of the US and residue of Latvia engaged in an oral battle after the second tense round of the US Open that gained more attention than the match itself.
Townsend disturbed the number 25 of the ostapenko 7-5, 6-1 seed to reach the third round.

After shaking their hands after the match, Ostapenko faced Townsend near the Umpire chair.
While it was difficult to hear everything that was said because of the noise of the crowd, Ostapenko can be heard by saying Townsend, “You have no education. Wait until we are out of the Long exchange.
Townsend later celebrated with court 11 crowd while many of the Booed Ostapenko fans as she left the court. Townsend later spoke with ESPN about the incident.
“She said I have no class, I have no education and see what happens when we go out of the SH.BA,” Townsend added. “I am waiting for him. I beat him in Canada outside SH.BA who beat him in New York. So let’s see what else to say
Ostapenko climbed on a double break 3-0 early in the match and later served for the first 5-3 set. Townsend managed to return to equal conditions before receiving group 7-5.
After Townsend gained a quick lead in the second, Ostapenko called for a coach and a doctor to check her blood pressure and assess her condition. Play resumed soon after that and Townsend continued to win the match 7-5, 6-1.
Ostapenko, who was not asked by the media before the match, did not speak to the press afterwards as she was not required to do so. She, however, posted on her personal account on Instagram that she got a problem with Townsend without apologizing for a “net ball” during the match and starting pre-heating heating first and not from the beginning.

Townsend has faced ostapenko many times in single and double, recently in this year’s semifinal of Wimen’s Women’s Doubles and has no problem with him.
Townsend, at her post -match press conference, said she had no “beef” with Ostapenko before or after the match, but was proud of how she treated the moment.
No, there has never been any story. I don’t know how she feels about me, but there is no beef on my side. She told me that I have no education, no class and to see what happens if we play each other outside the shade, I’m excited, bring it.
Still, there is no beef. But again, as you guys have seen, I did not withdraw because you would not offend me, especially after keeping myself a certain type of road with nothing but respect. If I show you respect for you, I expect respect as well. This is just the fact of the matter.
I think it’s tennis, right? You know no matter what is happening, I am against you, but at the end of the day we have to respect each other and respect what happens in court. It’s competition.
So you know, it was unfortunate, but, you know, it’s something that can wear my tikku (laughing).
Townsend, currently the world no. 1 on WTA Double, is now in the third round of US Open for the third time in her career. It will face another no. 5 seeds Mirra Andreva.
