New York –Novak Djokovic has scaled the Sports Summit.
Grand Slam King Djokovic has captured 100 career championships, kept in the world no. 1 ranking a record 428 weeks and ended as the end of year No.1 an eight -time record.
The former skiltry tennis who knows everything to navigate the pro -Tour peaks and valleys and is in a unique position to evaluate the most monumental tennis points.
Speaking to the media after his second round victory in the second round in JB, Djokovic mentioned two achievements as the most massive milestones in tennis: Achieving World No. 1 and achievement of the golden Slam career.

“So for you to play constantly over and over again, be a contender for the No.1 in the world, this is probably one of, if not the final challenge.
“Because it requires 24/7 attention for every single detail when it comes to physical recovery, preparation, mental training, everything that revolves around an individual athlete, because at the end of the day, you have to do the job in court yourself.”

By applying Golden Slam standard of Gjokovic, you can make a case Steffi Graf owns one of the most impressive records in the history of tennis. Graf stands alone as the only player who won Golden Slam of a season-grabbing all four Grand Slam wreaths and the golden Olympic medal-a feat that she reached in 1988 when the Seoul Olympic Games were played in September after US Open. This demanded that Graf win in New York City in early September, then fly to Korea to hit the gold after finishing the Grand Slam calendar.
While Gjokovic’s rival, Rafael Nadal, won the Olympic gold in both single and duo, Serena Williams is the only player to reach the Golden Slam career in both single and duo. Serena Williams partner sister Venus Williams at the Golden Olympus in 2000 (when Venus Williams also won the Golden Single), 2008 and 2012 when Serena Williams hit gold in the Olympics in London.
Of course, Djokovic almost drew the calendar in 2021 when he won Australian Open, Wimbledon and Roland Garros then reached the Flushing Meadows final, where Daniil Medvedev denied his calendar Grand Slam Dream.
