Matteo Berrettini is outside the US open.
The 59th Italian Italian officially withdrew from the meadows of Flushing Major today.

It is the second attraction of Grand Slam to Berrettini this season. Wimbledon’s 2021 finalist withdrew from Roland Garros in May fighting an oblique damage.
29-year-old Berrettini has reached the quarter-finals or better in all four Grand Slams, including his memorable candidacy in the US Open 2019 semifinal.
Berrettini, who has not played a match since his first round loss in Wimbledon in June, joins Grigor Dimitrov as the second former referee to withdraw from his open. Dimitrov, who withdrew because of the torn sector he held against Jannik Sinner in Wimbledon, will see his 15-year end of Grand Slam Streak.
Berrettini’s withdrawal has immediate consequences for American men.
