Demonstration shows are not usually part of Taylor Fritz’s Arsenal.
Tonight, Fritz fired the point of calling to paint a declarative victory.
At the point of the match, Fritz slammed his 20th ACE finishing a 6-3, 7-6 (4) win Andrey Rublev to light in his fifth semifinal of the season at National Bank Open in Toronto.
The second seed Fritz posted his 20th victory of the season court-he is the third man who did it-growing up in his 38th career semifinal.
Wimbledon Fritz’s semi -finalist will face or with the ninth seed Alex de minaur or fourth seed compatriot Ben Shelton for a place in the final. Fritz, who is 5-5 vs de minaur and 1-0 against Shelton, has been bids for his first court final since defeating De Minaur and Alexander Zverev in the line to reach the ATP finals match in Turin last November.

Exploding from the blocks quickly, Fritz flew eight points in a row, reaching a 3-0 lead against the Canadian finalist of 2024.
27-year-old Fritz was striking the ball depth on both sides, punished Rublev with two hands Rublev and even carved some shots in time grasping a lead with a set. Fritz served 70 percent and won 17 of the 23 points of the first service in the opening group.
“He’s one of the best players. He gets great results,” Rublev told Fritz. “Wimbledon’s semifinal, great match against Alcaraz. Now the tour behind Wimbledon he is in the semifinals.
“I know he has a great level, but here it is difficult to serve against. There is no tennis here at all. But in general, he had an incredible level. He has difficult matches against senior players, and he is beating most players.”

In Toronto’s fast court, Fritz was almost perfect to serve at the beginning of the second group. American 6’5 ”was torn in 16 of his first 17 points of service, sealing three loved loves in the beginning of the second group. Fritz broke for 5-4.
The only true obstacle of the seed came when it served for the semifinals at 5-4. Despite the successive aces that helped him win the point of match, Fritz lost his back to normally reliable.
Rublev saved a match point, then used a double mistake and marked the back fracture to level the second set in the 5th.
A frustrated fritz threw his head in court and shouted in his box in his only evening anxiety show.
Rublev forehand remains one of the largest in the game, but the biggest Russian weapon betrayed it early in Tiebreaker. Rublev lost two prefaces in the first three points while Fritz received a 3-0 lead.
Starting a 137km rocket in the middle, Fritz climbed 5-2. Although Rublev threw a diagonal preface for close to 4-5, he lost a preface of the mind in the net to hand over to America a second point of the match.
This time, Fritz made no mistake by hitting his 20th night ACE to seal his 20th difficult year victory.
