After falling from this year’s French Open Alex de minaur – Aussie seemingly impenetrable playing tennis like Bunny Energizer – quoted Burnout as one of the biggest contributing factors for his wars in court.
“For the last three years, I have had two days off after Davis Cup and I went straight to Preseason, directly in the new season again,” he said after falling to Alexander Bublik in five sets in the second round in Paris.

“As soon as you start, you don’t finish until November 24th. So it will never end. The way (season) is structured … I have had to deal with it. I’m still dealing with it now.”
Two months later, 26-year-old Aussie is looking recharged, even if she is in a lower order. This has become De Mineur overlooked in protecting his title S-Hertogenbosch in order to determine priority in his mental and physical health over tracking ranking points.

This week in Toronto he travels with an eight -game winning belt in the quarter -finals.
“I took some time of rest, I didn’t play some shifts. I knew I had to change my opinion a little, because what I felt, with what I was dealing with every day, was not stable and was the reason for my burn,” De Mineur said earlier this week.
“So I decided not to try and defend the title at Hertogenbosch, although I knew it would affect my planting in Wimbledon. And it was the first step for me, forgetting my ranking and just worrying about myself a little more.”
De Minaur and many other players – from Casper Ruud to Alexander Zverev to IgA Swiatek – have expressed concern about the demands of the current tournament, and smart ones are learning to get things in their hands.
“I managed to have a big balance,” De Mineur said. “I’ve had a lot of talks outside the court to make sure I’m in this right mentality. Now I’m giving priority to myself, and I know I’m a very good player, I know I’m a Top-10 player, even if I’m not, I was not in that ranking a few weeks ago.
“If I appear, and I am mentally ready and physically ready, I know I can provide that tennis. The last two weeks have been an example of this, so proud.”
