Sam Burns is playing a good golf in 2025 – but he has not yet updated his driver

When new drivers hit the shelves, most professional players update. But not everyone in PGA Tour follows that scenario. Just ask Rory Mcilroy, Scottie Scheffler … and Sam Burns. These players have remained loyal to their reliable models long after the new ones became available.

In the case of burns, it is especially visible. While he is calmmingly joining a strong 2025 season, he is still playing the same driver he had in the bag for nearly two years.

A strong 2025 without a new driver

Burns has had a stable year. Through 21 events, he made 18 cuts, posted 10 Top-25 ends and earned more than $ 4.5 million.

His most obvious performance was a competitor to the RBC Canadian Open, highlighted by a last round 62.

Statistically, his success is mainly thanks to his puter. He ranks second in the wins and 15th strokes in the round.

Burns ranks 69th in stroke obtained by Tee and 52 at the distance of the car at 307 yards. These are respectable numbers, but not elite, and they have not been greatly improved since 2023.

An affinity of the only driver Callaway Paradm

What Driver is using Sam Burns?

Burns still plays Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond S, located at 10 degrees with a fujura axis Blue Ventus 7 tx. He first moved to Paradym S at the beginning of 2023 and has not moved it since then.

He has made updates elsewhere in his bag. Its 3-current deeds is Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond.

Is it time for an update?

Elyte Callaway executives were designed for fast, aggressive players that require speed, low rotation and start control. At a club speed of over 118 MPH, Burns checks all those boxes. Elyte Triple Diamond won our 2025’s best golf driver TRIAL

So why not pass?

Maybe it’s comfort. Maybe it’s consistency. Or maybe he is waiting to see what the next Callaway starts.

Final thoughts

Rory Mcilroy and Scottie Scheffler are still using Taylormade Qi10Despite the newest models that hit the market. For some players, change is not worth the risk if the current configuration still performs.

Burns may not be the leadership of the field in steering statistics, but with its short game making heavy rise, the Diamond Triple Paradym remains in the game – for now.
