Leeds United’s Ilia Gruev was reportedly booed by his own supporters after his passive approach during his side’s win on Saturday.
After a very tough start to their new Championship campaign, which saw them lose against Burnley, Daniel Farke’s men recorded their third win of the season against Cardiff City on Saturday.
The visitors immediately took the lead when Joel Bagan was shown a red card, reducing Cardiff to ten men after just 23 minutes.
Leeds quickly took advantage when Largie Ramazani broke the deadlock on the half hour mark and they would dominate the game as a result.
Joel Piroe finished with all three points in the end as he finished with 80% possession and moved up to sixth in the Championship table.
However, according to Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening PostLeeds fans were unimpressed by Gruev’s timid approach as he decided to “go back and play it safe” on several occasions prompting a backlash from supporters.
The German manager has certainly felt the pressure from his own fan base after his disappointing start with his next three games against Coventry, Norwich and Sunderland pivotal to his campaign.
