Angles report. Austin Riley emergency release

This week’s theme was supposed to be about taking the team from 15th to 5th with an outside chance of a top 2 finish. Stick to it, get some to buy low deals, hide IL and NA, yadda yadda yadda.

Although my team had high hopes Austin Riley. In case you missed it, Riley is out 6-8 weeks with a broken hand. This isn’t good, especially if you’re in a major league with the playoffs coming up soon, or a roto league where you thought you could score some power. Yes, this really hits home for you, and I’m sure some of you do too.

The Braves signed Gio Urshela replace him, so it’s obviously bad for everyone, including the Braves. So here are some ideas to replace Riley, or maybe anyone. And someone just canceled the Braves already, it’s not safe. These are not great ideas, they won’t win your league unless I’m really lucky. But keep grinding, what kind of fantasy football manager are you?

If you’re feeling lucky, and I mean really, really lucky, you can pick up the flyer Christopher Morrell. There is nothing wrong with this suggestion except that she may have had hot streaks before and again. He’s the closest to being able to duplicate what Riley gave. Or he could sink your season with his .148 average and 2 HR after getting to Tampa. Your call, this.

Amed Rosario Claimed off waivers because the Dodgers clearly didn’t feel like they needed his .303 average or anything. He’s probably the Reds’ third baseman Jaime Candelario he broke his finger. He did not warrant an emergency designation. Still, Rosario could contribute some, and if you need a straight-up pickup who’s kind of safe, go ahead.

Whit Merrifield counts as number three, and I’m sorry you just read that. This is not a strong proposition, just a name out there. Maybe a hot streak and some steals?

Hits of the week.

Mark Winds is the third baseman that matters and could also be Riley’s pickup. He’s not available in RCL leagues, but 40% of people on Yahoo aren’t on board. Go ahead; A .364 average with an OPS north of 1.200 is just the thing to cure your Riley broken arm blues. Check like now see if he’s there.

Isiah Keener-Falefa becoming a regular at-bat for the pirates, but don’t let that put you off. Last week he reached Player Rater’s legendary top ten. Average game, here, but there’s worse, and he could hit .300 out of here. He even knocked one of the sock out of the park to go with that .318 average. You could do a lot worse. Just look…….

Bums of the week

Isaac Paredes he gets the nickname “I suck” and earns every letter. He shot 1-17 last week. That’s bad. This writer has never been completely on board with Isaac’s parade as RBI keeps his flame rolling. Now that he’s in a bad lineup, chances are running out, and weeks like this seem even worse.

Rhys Hoskins calculated to produce slightly more Christian Yelich going down He doesn’t have any. .118 with one RBI and zero HR not really producing at all. He could be a solid replacement, but I stay away. Just too much average crater.

Well “you guys are screwed” is the thread and you’re all out of your leagues if you have Austin Riley. Thanks for reading though, and may your fingers be in better shape.
