Joshua’s trainer says Dubois will be in danger by “launching moves”

Anthony Joshua’s trainer, Ben Davison, says Daniel Dubois will quickly discover that it is a mistake to “keep hitting” right off the bat on Saturday night. Ben says that if any of AJ’s opponents take that aggressive approach right away, they could end up like Francis Ngannou.

Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) knocked out 37-year-old former UFC champion Ngannou in the second round last March. However, Ngannou (0-2) had only fought once as a pro before that bout, and he was unworthy of fighting a top-level heavyweight.

Ngannou looked completely clueless in the ring, inexplicably switching stances to southpaw and promptly clocked by Joshua.

That circus fight should never have been approved in the first place, and strangely Ben Davison is using it as an example of what will happen to IBF heavyweight champion Dubois or any fighter who dares to use that approach against Joshua.

“If someone thinks they can just come in and start hitting AJ, they’ll find out very quickly, like Francis Ngannou did,” said Ben Davison with his warning about what could happen to Dubois or other fighters if they aggressively fight Joshua . .

Of course, it won’t be good for Ben Davison if Dubois jumps out and knocks Joshua out in the early rounds on Saturday night. Joshua will likely fire Davison soon after and then look for the next flavor of the week to rebuild him.

It doesn’t matter who coaches Joshua; he is a sinking ship, and no one can right him. Joshua’s problems are too severe for a new trainer, as they involve age, ring wear, weak chin, poor stamina and lack of confidence.

“Now, I believe he is the best heavyweight in the world,” Eddie Hearn said during the final press conference about Joshua. “It’s going to be a great night and history will be made by this man (Joshua).”

It will be interesting to listen to Eddie Hearn’s speech on Saturday night if Dubois knocks out Joshua. Will it be the old ‘Mistakes were made’ speech by Hearn?

“I believe Daniel Dubois will strengthen his legacy in boxing,” said Frank Warren.
