After the morning thoughts in Bislet
1 atmosphere
It was a great meeting, a big atmosphere. After that, several athletes told me (from their first visit to Oslo) that they could not believe the noise level. At 15,000 stadium, 15,000 are completely different from such a 50,000-powered Olympic stadium. And which crowd is very close to the track adds to the atmosphere?
2 traditions
The dream mile is one of the events of the program with so much history. The race of 2025 did not disappoint her 10 PRS and 5 to 5. For people of my age, remembering the Council of Europe and Ovet, Kram and Walker, was notable that it was not at the Olympic 1500 of Paris.
3 women 100m
Olympic champion Julie Alfred went to the 11th sub-paragraph. It’s great to see the 36-year-old Marie-Josée Ta-Lou Smith beat his young competitors to take the second place.
4 World
Mondo has clearly cleared 6 meters (best 6.15), I admit that I didn’t see. The polar folder was completely at the opposite end of the stadium, and there was no prompt from the host of this stadium. I know that this is the nature of our sport that several things are done at the same time, but it often leads to marginalized field events.
5 two for one
Having a great idea, several events last night, not mentioning for free strawberries (and writers), including high-quality 10K race and interviews with some legendary athletes.
6 5000 m
I liked the races of men at the pace, which allowed 8 athletes to nominate PR (and two national records). One or two years followed that 5K is going out in the diamond league program. It has definitely room.
7 300m obstacles
I’m afraid I didn’t really see the meaning of that. 300 meters flat race, 200 men and 400 stability speed and 600 m race are always fascinating. But seeing a group of 400 blasts, which races a race to show which of them left the fastest 3/4 through their normal race to Bemuse. At least Karsten Warholm won.
