Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has responded to a recent social media post shared by defender Cristian Romero.
The post appeared to criticize Spurs’ handling of travel arrangements for players returning from international duty.
Following Spurs’ 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the north London derby, Romero briefly shared a retweet from Argentinian journalist Gaston Edul, which suggested dissatisfaction with the lack of adequate travel arrangements for the players who were returning from international matches, claiming that Tottenham was the only Premier. The League club does not offer this support.
This was seen as a factor that could have affected the players’ preparation for the derby.
The Argentine quickly deleted the retweet, but not before fans caught the screenshots.

Ange responds to Romero’s retweet
Speaking ahead of the game against Coventry City, Postecoglou clarified that no concerns were raised regarding travel ahead of the game. He said all players, including Romero, had already returned to training on Thursday, in time for Sunday’s game.
As you have quoted The Mirrorthe Australian coach said:
“He mentioned it to me (after the game), but they didn’t tell me before the game. All players returned on Thursday for a game on Sunday. Nothing was mentioned before the game.”
Romero’s performance during the derby was also criticized, particularly for his involvement in marking Gabriel, who scored the winning goal from a corner.
Despite the external noise, Postecoglou remains focused on improving the team’s performance on the field and is not distracted by problems off the field.
The club will seek to resolve the matter behind closed doors and will not want to escalate given Romero’s importance to the team.
The player is already attracting great interest from Real Madrid with offers awaiting him next summer.
