The venue for the 12th of July Edgar Berlanga against Hamzah Sheeraz event is the 14,053 seat National Tennis Center at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. It is a venue that works for that sport, but not for boxing. Unfortunately, the stadium has many seats on the ground level, make them useless to watch box.
Fans are more concerned about the PPV price of the event rather than on the location. If Turki wants to please fans, he has to price the opportunity at a discounted price, because Berlanga is in the main meeting.
It is unclear why Turki Alalshikh chose this place for the 12th of July. It is a smaller venue Dan Madison Square Garden or the Barclays Center. The one obvious advantage of Louis Armstrong Stadium is that it will be an outdoor room, like the previous Turki event on May 2 at Times Square. The roof is withdrawn in case of freak rain, sometimes in New York. It is one of the green states.
The battles
Edgar Blangga vs. Hamzah Sheeraz – Main Event
Shakur Stevenson vs. William Zepeda-Medemia
Alberto Puello vs. SubBriel Matias
David Morrell vs. Imam Khataev
Regular fans will be pleased to have to attend the battle rather than being excluded, as we saw with the Times Square event. The crowd for the event was several hundred carefully selected VIPs, many of their wealthy millionaires. The fights were terrible and an example of what happened to bad matchmaking.
Berlanga’s local trek?
It is doubtful whether the venue will sell out, because none of the battles echo with the New York crowd. Although Berlanga is from Brooklyn, he is not a big enough name to bring in a crowd of 14,000. Shakur is from Newark, New Jersey, and he is also not very popular in that condition. Of course, Turki may afford the event is half filled, but it might have been better to increase this map at the 5,600-seat theater in Madison Square Garden in New York. In this way, it would be guaranteed a sale.
In his career, Berlanga did not do enough to rely on him to bring in a great audience. It would have been a better idea for Turki to find a popular fighter who could have the opportunity. Shakur would still be a good co-function, and Berlanga would be perfect for the third fight from Bo.
