Bruce Carrington says he doubts that superstar Naoya Inoue will be “in a hurry” to move to featherweight after being dropped by Ramon Cardenas in his fight last Sunday night. The contender for 126 pounds, Carrington, mentions that he thinks that inoue (30-0, 27 coes) will choose to stay with Super Bantamweight and “Coast” for the rest of his career.
Inoue (31) will be beaten by Cardenas (26-2, 14 COs) last Sunday night in Las Vegas in the T-Mobile in Las Vegas (26-2, 14 COs). In other words, Naoya has reached its ceiling and should not dare to move beyond the 122 -pound division to fight larger, stronger punchers at 126.
Last year, inoue was beaten to death by Luis Nery when he was cut by a large left hook on May 6 at the Tokyo dome. He has never been dropped to that point before. It wasn’t a flash knockdown. Nery cleans inoue with a left hook. The way in which inoues went down showed that his chin was too glassy to move to 126 to intertwine with peak predators Like Rafael Espinoza or Bruce Carrington.
“Coast” at Super Bantam?
“You need to know your boundaries. Like me, I would not be able to rise to 160 or something like that. You had to know your borders as a fighter, ‘Carrington said Ring magazine or Naoya inoue will move to featherweight.
Carrington brings a good point over a warrior who needs to know their limits. If you look at the reaction of inoue to the bumps with which Ramon Cardenas beat him, you can see that he will not do well with featherweight against the mighty fighters in that section. Cardenas are not a big puncher, but inoue looked at every shot he threw.
“I do feel that, even if he was dropped in his last fight, he would certainly not be in a hurry to get to 126, because we hit even harder,” Carrington continued to “monster” inoue.
“I can see that he probably like,” Do you know what? I can probably just coast the rest of my career on 122. “And he was done enough in his career to make the call.
A dead section
Inoue is likely to choose to stay safety for the rest of his career, and to hold the poor opposition to this dead section. There is minimal talent at Super Bantamweight, because the better fighters are at 126. Staying at Super Bantamweight is the perfect environment for Naoya to thrive another five to six years against the limited fighters. He can continue to make good money in that weight class and increase his wealth.
