Each week, we continue to highlight a WITB (What’s in the Bag) from a member of the MyGolfSpy Forum. If you have an interesting bag setup or want to be featured, share your WITB in the Forum thread.
This week, we show poprocksncokewho has a mix of classic and modern clothing in his bag. His choice of clubs shows a preference for tried and true equipment, with some newer additions influenced by the MyGolfSpy community.
Let’s take a look inside his bag:
Driver: Taylormade SLDR
About the club: A few years ago, poprocksncoke switched to SLDR after trying out a playing partner’s club and deciding it was a better fit than his previous Taylormade R11s. Originally fitted with an Oban Kiyoshi HB shaft, he recently switched to a Fujikura Ventus Velocore+ Red shaft, following feedback from a MyGolfSpy member review thread. The change has provided a higher ball flight, which has been a welcome adjustment.
3-Wood: Taylormade R11s
About the club: This club was a Christmas present from his wife after he borrowed his father’s R11s 3-wood. The club has stayed in his bag ever since, proving its reliability over the years.
2 Iron: Lynx Black Cat Tour
About the club: The oldest club in his bag, Lynx Black Tour 2 iron has been a long time friend. Although it doesn’t see much action, it’s a reliable option when he needs to land a low kick or is feeling particularly brave.
Cuff (4-PW): Callaway Apex Pro 16
About the clubs: These irons has been in his bag since 2017, replacing a set of Mizunos. While he briefly switched to Hogan Fort Worth irons for a MyGolfSpy Forum review, he eventually returned to the Apex Pro for their superior forgiveness, making them too valuable to pass up.
Wedge: RIVL 52° and 58°
About the clubs: His latest additions, these REV wedges replaced a set of obsolete Cleveland wedges. Despite being new to the bag, they have quickly won his approval with their feel and performance.
Putter: Evnroll EV 5.3 Duo
About the club: After hearing the buzz on MyGolfSpy about Evnroll’s putters, he was lucky enough to be selected to review EV 5.3 Duo last year. It did not disappoint and has earned a permanent place in his bag, withstanding all the hype.
Equipment inspired by MyGolfSpy
Additional items: The Poprocksncoke bag also includes some items inspired by the MyGolfSpy community:
- Golf ball: Maxfli Tours, discovered through MGS, are his favorites for their unbeatable value.
- Sunglasses: Sundog The Caddy TrueBlue Sunglasses, another MGS inspired purchase.
- Start the monitor: Swing Caddy 2+, a recent addition that provides valuable swing data, selected after extensive MGS research.
