“If we didn’t go through with that, they would deprive him (Daniel Dubois),” the promoter Frank Warren said Seconds When asked if he would go through with a fight between IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois and IBF mandator-age Chisora to Peter Fury’s warnings that Chisora could get brain damage if he was fighting this battle.
“Everyone has an opinion. I said Derek should retire two years ago, and He proved me wrong”Warren continued.
Chisora proved him wrong, right? These are Derek’s victories in the past two years:
– Otto Wallin
– Joe Joyce: 39
– Gerald Washington: 42
A broken system?
What proved those victories for Chisora? It demonstrates that Derek was Skilled maneuver And that the IBF should change how they determine who is fighting in their title eliminators. There is no way on earth that Chisora’s fight against the recently smart 34-year-old Otto Wallin should have been an IBF title eliminator. Does the IBF do not have standards?
Wallin was knocked out by Anthony Joshua in five rounds in 2023, and Chisora has not beaten a semi-deviating heavyweight since his eighth round victory against Carlos Takam in 2018. But his victories have been against poor fighters since then, and his record in his three-match against the tomato can Washington, Joyce and Wallin a Vol 1-4. Chisora lost to former WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in an undeserved title fight in 2022, Joseph Parker twice, and Oleksandr Ulsyk.
Medical to reality
“If he (Chisora) is licensed and through a strict list of tests by the boxing board of control before allowing him to fight,” Warren said of Chisora. ‘It includes all kinds of tests on MRI scans and everything. He will go through all the tests, and they will determine if he is fit and can box. ‘
If you pass these tests, it still doesn’t mean that Chisora should be in the ring with IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois. There are many rinsed fighters who can pass medical tests, but they should be nowhere near a dangerous fighter like Dubois.
Chisora looked like a punch pocket in his last fight against Wallin, and the only reason he won is that this man is terribly poor. Wallin is not a high level heavyweight and probably has no business in the top 15 by any of the four organizations. If the IBF had his actions together, they would not have approved the fight against Chisora against Wallin as a world title eliminator.
