Edgar Berlanga says he is ready to fight one of his three-fighter hit list after destroying the few well-known Jonathan Gonzalez Orthiz in one round last Saturday night in Orlando, Florida.

Too expensive?
Fans want overwhelming Berlanga to fight against Caleb plant next, but Edgar is likely to praise himself too much because he believes he has the same kind of money he is fighting. It is not a big battle that will bring many PPV purchases because plant is not popular enough. If Berlanga tastes himself with $ 10 million, he must work on the list against one of the minor fighters.
Berlanga (23-1, 18 CO’s) made it clear that he would be the A side he was choosing because he had “The Island Puerto Rico” behind him. His number 1 choice is Jaime Munguia, who came from a cruel knock -out loss from the fifth round against Bruno Surace in December last year, and lost two from his last three fights. It is not ideal.
Cruiserweight Berlanga?
It is doubtful whether Edgar can make even more 168, as he looked like a cross weight last Saturday night. He missed weight last Friday, which weighed at 169 1/2 pounds, and there is a lot of doubt if he can even return to 168 without putting himself in the hospital.
Berlanga must fight at the least at this stage of his career against light heavyweight, if not Cruiserweight. He is about to turn 28, and has apparently eaten well with the $ 12 million he received from his three-game contract with the match room.
Berlanga’s hit list does not necessarily represent who is the best Super Middleweight contenders because the division has changed with new blood increases. The guys on his wish list are either old or fighters with shaky resumes.
Jermall turned 35 in May and has only fought once since 2021. He is not even relevant in the 168 pound division.
