Middleweight Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams (18-1, 12 COs) won a surprisingly broad 12-round decision in a fight that looked close enough on Saturday night to be a draw against second-level fighter Patrice Volny (19-2, 13 COs) in their main liner in the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida.

Williams, 28, focused on using his volume punishment to surpass the larger, stronger and much older 35-year-old full. The rounds were very close, making it impossible to determine who made the action better. In the end, the judges focused on the strong finish of ammunition, but the scores were eliminated for the way the fight played.

Hearn’s plan
After the fight, Eddie Hearn, a match promoter, said he wanted to give Ammo Williams a title shot before the end of the year. He did not say which champion, but given the ammunition is the highest with the WBA on #7, will target Hearn Erislandy Lara for Williams to fight.
I do not see ammunition that beat Lara, WBC champion Carlos Adames and especially not the IBF/WBO champion Janibek Alimkhanuly. Those guys hit too hard and have too much talent for the still very green light ammunition Williams. He fights as if he is muscle -bound, and for some reason cannot produce power.
“It was by far the best victory of his career,” said promoter Eddie Hearn about Ammo Williams. ‘The middleweight division is now dead. I think in 2025 it’s time for that man to fight for a world title. “
Edgar Berlanga crushes Gonzalez-OrdiZ
In the other notable battle on the map, Super Middlewekht or should I say Cruiserweight, Edgar Berlanga (23-1, 18 COs) Jonathan Gonzalez Orthiz (20-1-1, 16 COs) destroyed in the first round.
Berlanga came from his loss of Canelo Alvarez in September last year, and you could tell from his fleshy, overweight physique that he had eaten well “The bag” that he got for that battle.
Berlanga was 193 pounds for that battle, but tonight he looked even heavier, which the 35-year-old Gonzalez Organ had no chance to win; Not that he would ever have a chance of any weight. It was a designed maladjustment.
The heavily tattooed Berlanga dropped Gonzalez Orthiz three times with hard pushing on the head. The referee walks in and blows it down after the third knockout. The time was at 2:31 of the first. Gonzalez Orthiz looked bad from the shape, with a limp middle of the center of the ring for ten years.
