If I had to guess, I would say 90 percent of the PGA Tour are a raw conclusion – the raw meaning only metal, without chrome plating or anything else of the kind. Over time, they start to skates and not only look amazing and eliminate shine, but even (in theory) can increase hair rotation. In theory. I’ve never seen evidence about it, but, hey, it’s a pleasure to think. In my experience, it has been apples on apples with satin wedge actually revolving a little more in some cases.
This week at Player championship, Akshay Bhatia Did it make unimaginable gearhead unimaginable and changed its reliable raw (photos below) for a group of chrome/satin end wedges. Makeup/Spec set is still the same, but the idea was that (in theory) the face of the chrome finish around the greens actually rotates a little more, which is essential in the harsh Tpc saw Greens – not to mention the next events in Valsspar and Augusta.
According to the Callaway Tour Kellen Watson rap, Bhatia mentioned that out of 120 yards and in OPUS Chrome increased its rotation just to matter.

As a wedge player, Bhatia has conditions of pristine start with his wedges. What I mean by this is his ability to hit low combustion, high rotation, high knee fastballs from 50-degree to 60. I can honestly say that his shot pattern is quite unique when looking at him live.
Wedges in the Bag this week are immediately from the truck, but in the true fashion akshay, the order for a person set by artist Callaway Wedge Anthony Taranto was ordered and are already going to Valspar.
The thing here is the “trust” for the player, sometimes a simple switch like this, though 75 percent placebo and 25 percent actual performance can only give certain players a small belief. This is the fun part with golf equipment, even if math does not prove your point. I have no data on how much it was won here, but honestly doesn’t matter. It is the hope or idea that can give the player exactly what it takes to do.
And it seems to be working. Bhatia entered the third round of the 12th in the field in SG: around the greens.
