Rafael Espinoza defends the featherweight title against Edward Vazquez in Co-Main on Inoue vs. Cardenas event

WBO featherweight champion Rafael ‘El Divino’ Espinoza (26-0, 22 COs) will defend on the Naoya Inoua inoue Card (17-2, 4 KOs) on the Naoya Inoua Inoue in Hardenas on Sunday, May 4 at the T-Mobile Arena.

Vazquez now has two defeats in fighting that he won near Raymond Ford and Joe Cordina. Many fans beat Vazquez Cordina in their fight on November 4, 2023 in Monte Carlo, but the judges felt that the British fighter had done enough.

Espinoza vs Vazquez is a good struggle to be the most important event on this map because it is more competitive on paper than the Inoue-Cardenas head letter. It is a mismatch.

Rafael’s great advantage

The 6’1 ″ Espinoza comes on December 7 last year of a sixth round injury from former WBO WBO 126 pounds, Robaity Ramirez. It was the second victory of Espinoza over the two -time Olympic gold medalist Robisy, and a sign that he is just too good for the Cuban talent.

Vazquez, 5’7 ″, will have to find out a way to handle the height of the Stork-like Espinoza, as he will be bombarded if he cannot find a strategy. His lack of pushchairs is going to make it more difficult, because he will need to defeat the much bigger champion. It’s not that Espinoza uses its height to fight from the outside.

What makes him so difficult is his long arms and the way his shots run, making them difficult to see. Espinoza also has a high work rate, which creates even more problems. However, he could be injured, as we saw in his first fight with Robeisy when he was dropped late in the fifth round. He was saved that he was knocked out by the end of the round.

“Rafael Espinoza is a tempting featherweight with the power and skills to be a world champion for years, and we are excited to display him for Mexican box on such a meaningful weekend,” promoter Bob Arum said. “Edward Vazquez is a tough, determined challenger who knows it’s his lap to change everything. Fans at T-Mobile Arena are working on a delicacy, as Espinoza shares the spotlight with the comparable Naoya Inoue in this historic Cinco de Mayo card. “
