Nine-holers are taking over

More player players are following the results

Women who are young in the game play more than half their golf as rounds of nine holes. For men, this number is just over a quarter. Golf courses are encouraging the participation of nine holes in a way that attracts new players.
Short courses are passing a moment
Last year, more than 350 short courses became acceptable for official course evaluations. In 2024, more than 180,000 results were posted for short courses.
While these courses may have once been considered a practical place, they now count on your handicap. Expect more of these to appear in 2025.
Tournament game is not yet known
While you can enjoy a friendly competition with your friends, most of the golf is still recreational. Nearly 95 percent of the 77 million rounds posted in 2024 were recreational. Most players are there to entertain and follow their progress and they are not creating handicaps just to play in competitive rounds.
Golfists in Mississippi are really good
Average handicap for all male players in 2024 was 14.7 but in some countries, The averages were much lower. The men in Mississippi and Arkansas had an average handicap index of 10.7.
The national average for women’s players is 28.7 But again, Mississippi came out at the top, with an average of 22.7.
22 rounds per year is average
Male golfists posted 24 rounds on average and female players posted 20. For men, most of them (20) were 18 -holes. If you are planning to play more golf this year, you will have to play more than twice a month to beat what the average player is doing.
