Last week, Vokey added to its Wedgeworks lineup with a new offer unlike anything offered through the program before.
New Vokey Wedgeworks Title 44F Wedge Isn’t it a new grind or previously only with tournaments, but it will now provide a very interesting opportunity for players with lofted iron bands.
And one of those players who plans to test the new option is Wadeh Maroun fully equipped.
When Maroun and the rest of our team Gear went to Carlsbad for our annual content trip, Maroun returned with a new Vokey with 46 degrees of wedge This is now his club at 120 yards.
“Simply understanding the service, like what is the utilitarian aspect of wedges and how you intend to use them properly, and then when I adapted to 46 degrees, and simply changed my wedge game to the point of 120 yards down,” he said in this weekly golf-weekly episode.
Vokey is adding this wedge to the lineup as many better players like Maroun, a 3-Handicap, are playing with strong lofts. Even in the Tix’s Tix series iron formation, only the wedge of T100 matches Vokey 46.10f for the attic, while T150, T200 and T350 handcuffs all have stronger wedges.
Maroun’s current handcuffs have a 45 -degree wedge, which he could match by bending his 46.10f strong, but that would make him lose bounce, which makes a wedge more prone to excavation. Now with a 44f, he could weaken him to match his set and add flatulence.
“I think it makes a lot of sense. How to get a 46 degree and split it when you can get a 44 degree and add attic to it if you want?” He said. “And there are many people there who want to have something that can be a little more for them than just a flip wedge or what you have. So I think it’s an interesting thing.”
Maroun noted that the specialty wedge that may not be for everyone, but the release underlines Vokey’s visible attempt to make sure they have an opportunity for everyone. Vokey SM10 Wedges Already offer more attic and grind combinations than any other retail OEM.
“I mean, they cover all those small niches that just see offers from anyone else,” said his co-perpetrator Kris McCormack. “And I mean, no exception here with this new 44. Like there are players there that simply prefer the shape and feeling and usefulness of a traditional wedge type. And now you have an opportunity to replace a sharp wedge.”
