Wells Indian, California – Taylor Fritz It wants to be a part of the base that is happening around the tennis of American men. And he believes there is still a lot of work to do.
There are currently 10 Americans within 10 Top 10 of ATP, but Fritz is the only one with a major Slam final and a master’s 1000 title for his name.
“I think it’s great that we are a kind of tennis construction,” he said earlier this week in Indian Wells. “We can help build tennis culture at the SH.BA I think it’s something I wanted to contribute to helping my whole career. I think women have done a long, long, long -running job, and I think boys need to grow it a little.
Fritz, who won the title of BNP Paribas Open in 2022, will face Italy’s Matteo Gigante in the second round at the Indian Wells Tenis Garden.
The 27 -year -old says an American man has to win a title – something that has become commonplace for American women – even without Serena Williams in the mix – the title to really introduce a moving charge.
“I think will take one of us by earning a collision to really get that stroke of new fans on the side of men,” he said. “I mean, it is good what we are currently doing. We have a great group. As I said, women have kept for a very, very long time.” How to make fun tennis tour
When it comes to attracting new fans, Fritz says sport should pay attention to Australian Open Playbook. Build an event about tennis so that the less nuanced fans have opportunities that go beyond tennis. In short, make it fun.
“I think sports should evolve. I think it’s evolving,” Fritz said. “I think this should take a little bit of the newest audience, but I think this is more like shifts that make more tournaments like a fun thing, even if you don’t understand tennis.
“I think something like Australian Open does a great job for that. People just go there to spend a great time. It’s not necessarily so much for tennis. You look at tennis but there are a million things to do while you are there.
“I think it’s almost more like a social event. These types of events are great for young fans to go and understand how fun they can have at a tennis event and how fun it is. And watching live tennis is also much different. I think you can start appreciating it.”
