Casemiro responds to Galatasaray interest amid Man Utd criticism

Casemiro is determined to fight for his future at Manchester United and plans to reject any advances from Turkish giants Galatasaray in the coming days, a report has revealed.

The veteran midfielder was criticized last season for a string of underwhelming performances and came under intense scrutiny following United’s 3-0 defeat by Liverpool, in which he was withdrawn at half-time after two mistakes that led to goals.

Reports in Turkey, which were later supported by The Timesclaimed that Galatasaray were preparing a shock move for Casemiro before his transfer The window closes on September 13.

However, the Daily Mail State Casemiro has no interest in calling time on his United career. The 32-year-old, who has won five Champions League titles since his time at Real Madrid, is looking to rebuild his reputation and prove himself at Old Trafford once again.

It is believed united are open to offers for Casemiro, who still has 18 months left on his £375,000-a-week contract which also includes the option of a one-year extension, but the Red Devils have yet to receive any interest specific

The pressure is firmly on Casemiro’s shoulders after he was withdrawn from Brazil’s squad for this summer’s Copa America. Coach Dorival Junior has not recalled the midfielder for September’s international matches.

At club level, United spent big on Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte at the end of the summer window. The 23-year-old defensive midfielder is clearly Casemiro’s long-term replacement and will increase the competition for minutes this season.
