USGA will have a new president starting in 2026.

On Sunday, USA scored former Golf team member Kevin Hammer as his elected president at his annual meeting this week in Pinehurst Resort and Country Club. Hammer was nominated for the post in the fall, but the vote took place this weekend.

Fred is entering the final year of his three-year term as president of the USA. He will hand over things to make a hammer next year.

“I continue to be inspired by men and women who put their hand and devote years of service to ensure that the USGA remains in a strong position to give greater impact on golf,” said Perpall, who enters his seventh year on board. “Beyond the extraordinary talents they share, we all love this game and want to leave it better than we found it. With Mike (WAN) at the top, we share a vision and a strong way forward, and that connection guides every step we take.”

USA also announced that Hammer “will continue to serve in governance, appointment, compensation and leadership development and international team selection committees in 2025.”

Hammer was a prominent amateur player who played his college golf at the University of Florida. He spent 10 years on the Executive Committee of the State Golf Association in Florida, including two as president.

USGA created the position of the elected president in 2019 to ensure continuity during the transition. Hammer will serve as president elected for a year before taking over.

“A strong board helps to push the USA long-range plan, and I am excited to continue working with Fred and the whole team to take important steps for all players,” said Mike Whan, CEO I USGA. “The commitment of the Executive Committee to invest in what matters and work for the benefit of the game strengthens all of us, and we are better for the expertise and efforts they borrow willingly.”
