The WBA lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis (30-0, 28 COs) found a 12-round majority against the underdog Lamont Roach (25-1-2, 10 COs) before a sold-out crowd of unfortunate fans at the end of the night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The referee contributed to the outcome of the battle by blowing a knockdown in ninth place, when Gervonta took a knee after being marked by a right hand, thrown right into the pipe by Roach.
After the fight, Tank Davis said he felt he was winning the win in the last three rounds. However, it was Roach’s best rounds of the fight, because he hit Davis with shots with shots, frustrated him and snapped up the fans.
The scores
115-113-Tank Davis
114-114
114-114
It must be the worst robbery I’ve ever seen. Roach had the tank from A to B at school, which made him look like an amateur amateur tonight and resisted at every opportunity. When things looked gloomy to Davis in the championships, he hit him to scam, and hit Roach on the back, blowing shoulder and throwing low strokes.
Final punch statistics
Tank Davis: 103 of 279 for a 37% connection rate
Lamont Roach: 112 of 400 for a 28%
I’ve never seen anyone take a knee and they don’t count it as a beat. Must have forgotten the rules for tonight.
