Luis Rubiales, former President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, has been found guilty of kissing Jenni Hermoso without consent of the Madrid Supreme Court.
Rubiales has been ordered to pay a fine of more than € 10,000 (£ 8,275) in Hermoso after kissing -on his lips. Spain’s victory over England in the World Cup final of women in 2023But prosecutors were not successful in their candidacy for a prison sentence.
The 47 -year -old young man was also erased from coincorting Hermoso to consider his kiss as a consensual.
The controversy overshadowed a historic day for the Women’s National Selection of Hermoso and Spain in general, with the player admitting that the illegal incident had “stained one of the happiest days” of his life.
Hermoso told the high court that he had never provided any consent to be kissed. In response, Rubiales said, “I am absolutely surely gave me their permission,” before adding “at that time it was a completely spontaneous thing.”
Rubiales, who resigned from his role as RFEF in September 2023 after the assembly pressure, has also been ordered not to pass about 200 meters from Hermoso for a year and refrain from having any contact with the player during the same period of time. The decision can be appealed in the event that Rubiales and his legal team want to do this route.
