Vergil Ortiz jr. Will have a complicated puzzle to resolve in his fight against the former WBA Junior Middleweight Champion on Saturday, February 22, on Turki Al-Sheikh’s map in Riyadh. Madrimov (10-1-1, 7 COs) gained a lot of experience from his recent fight against Terence Crawford, who drove the outdated fighter to his physical boundaries in Los Angeles in a razor defeat.

Madrimov too skilled?
Ortiz jr. (22-0, 21 COs) will have to show more skills if he wants to hold on to his WBC-Tus-Title of 154 pounds against the more technically gifted and powerful Madrimov. What can work for Vergil Jr., 26, is that on August 10 last year he comes off a grueling battle against Serhii Bohachuk, and now he jumps straight into an even more challenging match against Madrimov.
Although we saw how the smooth British boxer Michael McKinson quickly found out and destroyed in 2022, Madrimov is at a different level than that man. He has size, skills and Golovkin-like powerwhich makes him a formidable opponent.
Ortiz jr. Can’t just walk ‘Little GGG’ Madrimov as he hits the lights, vulnerable McKinson, and counts on striking him. If he fights like Madrimov, he will be repeatedly dropped, as he did in his dubious 12 round victory against Bohahuk. Let us be honest. It was a loss For Vergil Ortiz Jr., but he got a decision by Nevada’s judges. He was twice dropped by Bohachuk and looked like he had lost seven rounds, making it a clear victory for Ukrainian.
What made the whole failure even worse was Ortiz Jr. He chose not to give him a re -broadcast. It said a lot about him. With Saturday’s Ortiz-Madrimov fight performed in Riyadh, Vergil jr. Can’t think the judges will sponsor him if the fight is nearby. He will have to fight much better than Bohachuk, and he stands in front of a harder fighter with a better one -time force.
Ortiz jr. Need Plan B
If you’ve seen what Madrimov did to Crawford’s face, you just know that the easy-to-hit hit Jr. A lot of punishment in this competition will take up as he fights as he normally does. The primitive style with which Ortiz Jr. Getting away in his career will make him easy for Madrimov, who dominates the kind of fighters.
Vergil jr. Would be forced to change his style a long time ago if he were to fight better opposition and have been competing for 154 since the beginning of his career. Ortiz jr. Will follow his old playbook to try out Madrimov, but if that doesn’t work, he will need a plan B strategy.

With the battle, Crawford drove a TKO/KO line, and Madrimov managed to go the full 12th RDS with Bud.
