Nr. 1 World Scottie Scheffler is looking for his first victory of the season this weekend in 2025 Invitational Genesis. But I may not have had the opportunity if not for a smart use of a local rule when hitting the problems on Friday. Twice
After an open round 70 in unfaithful weather conditions TO Torrey pinesScheffler started round 2 in the ninth rear. And things went sideways quickly.
In his second hole of the day, the 11th and 11th long hole in the South Course, Scheffler sprinkled his bad shot to the left.
As the blow was obviously long and remaining, visual layout on Pgatour.com tells a much worse story. With the hole playing 215 yards, Scheffler’s ball was placed 257 yards from the Tee box.

But The best undisputed golf alive Did not hit a stroke over 40 yards tall. Instead, he caught a bad break when his ball took a lot of trails from the carriage trails. They Caroms turned a bad situation into a terrible.
Now Scheffler was lighting a hard chip of 40 yards from the fierce for his second hit, with a possible number of crooked in the offing.
But only when everything seemed to be coming out of the rails did the veteran use a local rule to escape his terrible lie.

First, when Scheffler noticed when he addressed his ball that an invitation sign of Genesis near the 12th Tee box was affecting his stay, he received relief through the local F-23 rule model.
This rule says as follows: “Facilitation by a temporary immovable obstacle is normally permitted when there is physical intervention or line of vision intervention.”
The rule allows a player to lift his ball to the nearest point of complete relief without a penalty. The Tournamnet sign counted as a tio, so after a long discussion with a rules official, Scheffler was able to throw his ball with a club from the original place over the Tee box collar. The new lie was very improved, but still complicated.
But it didn’t end here. After practicing his swing from the new place, Scheffler seemed to feel that the sign was still affecting his swing. So after another discussion with the rules officials, Scheffler made a second free fall of another club, this time ending with a perfect lie in a flat part of the 12th Tee box. After his two strong free points, Scheffler relied solely on his world’s beating skills to avoid large numbers. With a wedge in his hand and a good lie in front of him, he threw his second shot in three legs. Then he drained the subsequent putt for a one-hum money.
From there, Scheffler added three birds and an eagle to shoot a 67, removing it from Davis Thompson’s superiority going to the third round of Saturday.
