Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne says he has had no contact with any clubs leaving Premier League champions this summer.
The Belgian turned heads in June when he admitted it would consider a move to the Saudi Pro Leaguethat he had previously intended as the main objective for the coming years.
However, City coach Pep Guardiola later clarified it De Bruyne wasn’t going anywhere as his team tries to win a fifth straight league title.
Now the 33-year-old has revealed that he has not been contacted by any potential buyers and is now concentrating on matters on the pitch.
he said BBC Radio Manchester: “I haven’t talked to anyone, to be honest.
“There has been a lot of noise and news. I said in the summer that I expect a quiet summer and this is what happened. I have been on holiday for four weeks, I came back and started training. That was it. Nothing in say.”
De Bruyne enters his tenth season as aa city player and his current contract will expire at the end of the campaign, although he anticipates talks over an extension will begin with the club before then.
He added: “I haven’t been entertained or spoken to by anyone.
“Once the season progresses, I’m sure there will be talks with City.
“I just want to feel good, play good football and that will come in the next few months. I don’t feel the rush at the moment.”
De Bruyne returned to City’s squad after Euro 2024, appearing in the Community Shield as a late substitute, but has since started his three Premier League wins, goals and assists in 4-1 Ipswich Town.
He will captain Belgium during the September international break for two Nations League matches against Israel and France.
