Litton Das labels stunning 138 ‘not the best’, implicitly mocks Pakistan bowlers

The 29-year-old batsman of Bangladesh National Cricket Team, Litton Das, scored an incredible knock for his team in the second Test of the two-match series. Pakistan National Cricket Team on Sunday September 1 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The Bangladeshi batsmen looked unfazed by Khurram Shahzad’s sensational bowling and they were completely bowled out at 26/6 with veterans Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan also back in the dugout.

Then, it was up to the duo of Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz to do something magical and rescue the team from an all-time low Test score. They started playing cautiously against the bowlers and started building the innings slowly.

After spending some time in the middle, Das and Miraz were ready and focused on getting the team out of trouble. They batted brilliantly and even managed to restore pressure on the Pakistani bowlers.

Home captain Shan Masood tried all his bowlers but failed to stop the duo and Litton Das Mehidy along with Hasan Miraz put on a historic partnership.

As they broke the 150-run partnership, they became the first pair in Test cricket history to score 150 runs for the seventh or lower wicket from a team totaling less than 50 runs. In all, they put together a massive 245-ball partnership of 165 runs to bring Bangladesh back into the game.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz was dismissed after hitting 124 balls with 78 runs, 12 fours and 1 six, but Litton Das stayed in the middle for longer and smashed a sensational 138 runs off 228 balls with 13 fours and 4 sixes.

Not really – Litton Das was the best of his 138 runs against Pakistan

After the match on Day 3, Litton Das was asked in a press conference whether his knock of 138 runs against Pakistan was his best Test knock. He flatly denied this, saying that he played a better innings of 141 against Sri Lanka, which was his best knock. Some felt he was implicitly taking a dig at the Pakistani bowlers with his comments, suggesting they were less of a threat.

“Not really. I scored 141 against Sri Lanka, it was the same situation. It’s a good result. I’m lucky and happy to get the opportunity,” Litton said.

Litton Das was then questioned about his plans to bail out Bangladesh and he said that they just wanted to disrupt the pace of the Pakistan bowlers. He also praised Mehidy Hasan Miraz for acting very well.

“We didn’t plan for too long. When I started with Shakib, he came out early. When Miraz came in, all we discussed was how to break their pace. Credit goes to Miraz. I got hurt after the knock. Miraz put Pakistan on the back foot with his knock,” Litton added. .

Bangladesh were bowled out for 262 in their first innings and at stumps on Day 3, Pakistan were 9 runs for 2 wickets leading by 21 runs.
