Plant’s “Shake Up”: Real of Fake?

Caleb plant says he will ‘Shake up“The ranking after seeing #4 rankings with the ring, under the newcomers #3 Osleys Iglesias#2 Diego Pacheco, and #1 Christian Mbilli.

If plant wants to “shake” the ratings, he must tackle the 27-year-old Cuban Iglesias next and show that he can beat a talented younger fighter with power. It is doubtful that the plant will take that battle because Iglesias is too dangerous and is likely to knock him out much faster than Canelo Alvarez did four years ago in 2021.

‘Shake’ or smoke and mirrors?

Former IBF Super Middeeight Champion Plant (23-2, 14 COs) does not say who he plans to defeat to move up to the number 1 ranking with the ring, but it will have to be much better than the two names what he regularly wants to want to fight:

– Jermall Charlo
– Edgar Berlanga

It is not the top -10 fighters that would show a ranking committee that Caleb plant rates were positioned at number 1 or #2 on Super Middleweight. It would be business level Fights rather than those showing that the plant is the top dog at 168. Jermall is close to 35, has only fought once since 2021 and looks washed.

Berlanga is just a man with a manufacture Resumes who is nowhere near at the top. He is a creation more than a true fighter. It is pathetic that plant targets it instead of one of the true talents arranged above him, but it gives a look at the mindset of ‘believers’. He tries to cut corners to take an back door route up.

Plant will have to defeat Iglesias (13-0, 12), Pacheco or Mbilli to achieve the top position on the ranking. Interestingly, plant does not talk about wanting to fight any of the fighters. Instead, he seems to be taking the back door route and beating one or two easy marks, and he probably hopes he was waved to the top of the ring rankings.

In Tennesse native Caleb’s last battle against contender Trevor McCumby on September 14, he was dropped in fourth place and injured a few times by the few famous fighter. Plant gathered to stop McCumby, but it was not the achievement that indicated that he should be regarded as the top of the tree at 168. Plant looked very vulnerable and older than its chronological age.

Questionable record

Plant’s best career victory came six years ago when he defeated the IBF champion, Jose Uzcategui, with a 12-round decision on January 13, 2019. It was a very difficult struggle for planting against a fighter who did nothing special in his career and has not done anything ever since.

Caleb’s best wins since his victory over Uzcategui have come against this bunch: Caleb Truax (37 years old), Anthony Dirrell (39), and McCumby. The truth is that the CV of Plant is almost as bad as that of Edgar Berlanga, which shows that he is more of a false fighter than one of the talented guys judged on the rankings on him. He doesn’t belong on the top 5 of the ring’s ranking based on his resume, right? It’s not quite good enough.

Of course, if he wants to change things, he can always adopt the young killer, Osleys Iglesias, if he is ambitious and brave enough to fight against him.

The King of the Division is Canelo Alvarez, but in many years he has not fought anyone risky and is more a figure than a true monarch. He holds his position on what he has done in the distant past, rather than winning over the past seven years.
