Canelo’s four-game contract: Exploring the potential opponents

Canelo Alvarez’s options for fighting #1 and #3 were unveiled for his new contract with four struggles between him and the Riyadh season. David Banavidez’s name is not one of the four-game options.

Of the options for combat #1 and #3 there is one good name, Dmitri BIVOL. He is a good name, but he can make it on the list if he loses his rematch this month against the undisputed light heavyweight champion Artur betterbiev. Biblical is easily the best name.

It would be great if Betterbiev would be added if he were to overcome Dmitri in their re -broadcast on February 22, but it is unlikely that Canelo will agree to fight against him.

Betterbiev is too much of a knockout, and Canelo will never agree to face anyone like him. Biblical is good because he cannot hit and retreat when he is under pressure.

Former world champion with two divisions Jermall Charlo is one of the options for Canelo’s first battle on his four -game contract on May 4. The 35-year-old Jermall (33-0, 22 CO’s) has only fought once since 2021, and he has been inactive since 2023.

Mike Coppinger of ESPN revealed this list:

Fight #1 Options for May 4 in Riyadh

  1. Jermall Charlo
  2. Bruno Surace

Fight #2 for September 13 in Las Vegas

– Terence Crawford – Confirm

Fight #3 in February 2026 in Riyadh

  1. Dmitri BIVOL
  2. Hamzah sheeraz
  3. Chris eubank jr.

Fight #4 in October 2026 in Riyadh

– to be determined

Fans who followed the sport four years ago remember Charlo, and they might be interested if he was selected as Canelo’s opponent for his first struggle. However, he was so inactive that he was no longer popular with fans. He would not have a world title shot discharged from two years.

It would not be fair for Jermall to challenge for a world title for the jump contenders on a shot on Canelo. In addition, fans may confuse him with his brother, Jermell Charlo, who made Canelo unanimous decision in 2023 unanimously. Jermell just ran the whole battle around the ring and didn’t even try to win.
