The legend of Real Madrid confirms the withdrawal of professional football


Real Madrid’s ex-left, Marcelo, has announced his retirement from professional football.

The 36 -year -old gained a reputation as one of the older left -wing of all time during his 15 -year spell with Madrid, who started all the way in 2007 when the League giants recruited Fluminense.

During his time in Spain, Marcelo accumulated a huge 546 appearance for the club in all competitions, becoming the first foreign captain of the club in more than 100 years, as he won enough trophies to become the Most successful player in Madrid of all time.

Marcelo left Madrid In 2022, with less than 25 trophies in his cabinet: six laliga titles, five champions leagues, two Copas del Rey, five Spanish Super Cups, three Super UEFA cups and four club cups.

“At the age of 18, Real Madrid called the door and I arrived here,” Marcelo said in a video social media. “Now, I can proudly say that I am a true Madrid. Here, next to my wife, I built a family.

“16 seasons, 25 titles, five champions leagues, one of the captains and so many magical nights in the Bernabeu. What a trip!

“My journey as a player ends here, but I still have a lot to give football. Thank you for everything.”

After leaving Madrid in 2022, Marcelo took his talent in Olympiacos on the Greek side, but would last less than a year before making his emotional return next to childhood Fluminense, where he helped the club win the libertoes Cup before leaving in November 2024.
