British hammer throw goes from Printon University Aberdeen Housing Scheme
Angela Macauslan-Kelly has recycled between the pants’ housing scheme and the world’s most prestigious educational institutions.
How did the hammer throw come out to the torrent before Princeton University is a story that begs to say?
Macauslan-Kelly did it with talent, determination and patience, which is invaluable in athletics.
The 6th World War II Championships in the World Championships in Colombia now played a “long game”.
And the story of raising his championship on the scholarship at Princeton University is to be What about Superb New Short’s “Urbane Media” for Scottishathletics?
“I grew up by Torrin, Aberden in the northeastern Scotland,” Angela said in the video “From the letter to prinson” About moving his Athletics and New Jersey Ivy League College.
“There are stereotypes about what Taury is, it’s a lower socio-economic place. I was desperate to go out and move on to another, because I just want to see the world like that there so much there.
“But I never thought that I would end in America.”
This is what happened, but with parental support, when Angela progressed as a young throw Aberdeen, then to Scotland and the GB’s age group.
“I started when I was eight years old because my mother thought I had a lot of energy,” she added.
“I started throwing a hammer in March, and I was the champion of the British age group until I just came out every day and practically a few hours.
“I had a good upbringing, I wouldn’t say that my parents have the biggest income, but they work hard, thank you very much. I could never go to America, I never thought I was a good athlete.
“Then at a stage I received this email from Princeton. It was the first e-mail that I am from any US university.
“My father told me that I did not publish, because I had not yet returned my high marks, and I was very nervous about it. So I just thought. “It’s really cool, I really want it to work.”
“I went back to my higher grades, and it was five groups because I had thrown 5 meters to the Scottish champions to my first Scottish gold. And I thought:Oh, maybe it may happen. “
During a few weeks, Macauslan-Kelly was invited to Princeton, and now he is always there on athletics scholarship.
“Everyone is really nice and I really enjoy living at a university where everything really is near. I try and get all my classes in the morning so I’m my afternoon for free practice.
“Usually when we are season, we throw five times a week. We raise three or four times a week, and then I will eat with my friends, and then I will return to my room and I will go to worker’s shift homework.
“When people think about a sports scholarship, their minds are just going to be a good athlete. But you also have to work tirelessly in school to get good grades, as there is still criteria for sharp academics that you need to meet in order to go to America.
“I had incredible support from my family. They spend their time to do things to help me in life to feet. They worked hard to take me to competitions. They came to Peru’s South America with me to support me for the World Junior Championship. “
The journey of a young hammer throw fuel he can be the best athlete. And McAuslan-Kelly does not have high level goals.
“I do this sport because I want to be the best in it,” he said.
“And for me the success of the future would mean, you know, you go to the world champions and (or) Olympics. I have had many other attempts from sports, made friends for life. Don’t be ashamed to be high at a high level because I thought it would be a fool to say. “Oh, I want to be British champion.” It takes it. Although I really worked hard.
“It just takes time and you just have to keep pushing what you want. If you want to be a champion, it can take ten years, but eventually you can get there. Even if it’s a small opportunity, just keep on keeping and try. Give yourself some beliefs. “
Hard study is to choose a lifestyle for the athletes, but Macauslan-Kelly believes that everyone and anyone should take into account how their mental health can be active.
“Whether you do this for a competitive reason or leisure, even if you don’t want to train sports, I think it’s very good to fit or go regularly to the gym -kelly.
“If you really want something, you just have to keep pushing it. I never thought I would make it away but I didn’t want to go out.
“If you are worried about getting into sports and worrying about how people will see you, don’t worry about it. People are more concerned about themselves than they worry about you.
“My advice is as follows. Make sure you are happy and enjoy what you do. “
Just means for McAUSLAN-KELLY. Continue to throw.
