Nunez vs. Marriaga on Undercard
On the undercard, super featherweight Eduardo ‘Sugar’ Nunez (27-1, 27 KOs) will look to steal the show tonight, taking on heavyweight Miguel Marriaga (31-7, 25 KOs) in a ten-round fight. This fight could top the main event as Nunez is exciting to watch and will be looking for a knockout.
Sulecki (32-2, 12 KOs) is the underdog and has very little chance of winning this fight unless he can hurt Pacheco with one of his straight right hands. Pacheco is not the hardest fighter to hit, especially when he fights aggressively, which he always does. David Benavidez’s fighting style has rubbed off on Pacheco because he throws sustained combinations the way he does, putting him in danger at times.
Promoter Eddie Hearn believes the 6’4″ Pacheco is a future world champion. Still, there are many doubts about whether he will be able to hold onto a belt while Canelo Alvarez, Mbilli, Edgar Berlanga and Munguia hang around. Hearn is fast tracking Pacheco and trying to get him into a fight against Canelo as quickly as possible for obvious reasons.
Pacheco won’t see the money he would against Canelo against anyone else in his career, and he needs to get that fight before the Mexican star walks away from the fight.
“I can box out my opponents to frustrate them and make them open up; it’s just a matter of how the battle goes. I’m ready for whatever he brings, and I believe I’ll get the knockout.
