Will Shakur’s glass hand hold up against Schofield?

Shakur Stevenson believes that he is the ‘stronger fighter than Floyd Schofield after he sparred with him last time. The WBC lightweight champion Shakur’s KO rate is 45.5%.

Hand injuries

Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) says he’s had hand problems throughout his career, limiting his ability to land his punches. His glass hand remains a problem as he recently underwent hand surgery.

In a recent video Shakur posted, he did not use his right hand. This is the one he had surgery on. If Stevenson’s hand falls apart against Schofield, he will be helpless and unable to fend him off. He can’t walk to victory like he did against Edwin de los Santos and rely on the judges to give him a win because he’s the A-side.

‘The only thing that makes him a threat is his awkward style. Its bad rhythm, the jump in, and just have to be prepared for it. But truly, I am the levels of his child. So, I’m going to show it,” Shakur Stevenson told Shawn Porter watercoursetalking about Floyd Schofield.

“I think it’s deception,” Shakur said when asked why fighters think they can beat him after ghosting him. ‘He didn’t see anything when he was in the ring. He didn’t come out of the ring and be like, ‘I think I can beat him because he came out of the ring and said I’m the greatest fighter he’s ever been in the ring with.’

If Shakur doesn’t throw with power because of his fragile hands, it’s understandable why his sparring partners believe they can beat him. If Schofield goes with his sparring with Shakur, it’s understandable why he feels he can beat him. This is a logical conclusion that someone would reach after training with a fighter who prefers a fragile, injury-prone hand.

“He did me and said, ‘Bro, you’re better than anyone I’ve ever seen. ‘ He remembers how the sparring went,” Shakur said of his sparring with Schofield. “He remembers what happened, but I think fighters these days have to trick them. I think he is a delusional little kid, and his father is delusional. They tell themselves that they need to record themselves, but I read between the lines. “

If Shakur couldn’t sit down on his jabs because of hand problems, how can he call the kid Austin ‘delusional’ for believing he can beat him? It makes sense for him to think he can beat a non-puncher.

‘I feel like I’m stronger than him. I don’t feel like he’s stronger than me. I think people get confused that I have hand problems throughout my career. I think, I’m a stronger fighter than he is,’ says Shakur Stevenson.

Shakur sounds delusional here, saying he thinks he’s ‘stronger’ than Schofield, because all you have to do is watch their past fights on YouTube, and you can fall for Kid Austin being a much bigger puncher.
