Francesco Bagnaia jealous of ‘amazing’ Marc Marquez talent ahead of Ducati MotoGP battle


Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez are set to stage one of the most exciting battles in recent history for the MotoGP Championship as they partner at Ducati for 2025.

The two have eight titles between them and both finished in the riders’ top three last year.

Ducati In 2024, bikes won 90% (36/40) of the races, but Bagnaya Despite winning eight races more than reigning champion George Martin, he still found a way to elude the title.

It has the added pressure of earning Marquez Instead of Enea Bastianini now as his team, with a good form of the Spaniards after winning three races on a Ducati bike in the first season on their machine.

Martin’s title defense faltered after moving from his original Ducati bike to Aprilia. It will take some time for them to find development on their own.

Marquez could apply Max Verstappen’s formula at Ducati. Chasing honors for the first time since 2019, however, Bagnaya will not face much threat against a team entering his fifth campaign.

Francesco Bagnaia wishes he had Marc Marquez’s ‘dirt track’ skills.

Bagnaia finds Marquez’s arrival at Ducati very attractive. And something that will help boost the team’s performance in 2025.

Not what their rivals want to hear, but the experience and speed they collectively bring to the table has the potential to make them even more dominant this year.

In a video posted on Ducati’s YouTube channel, he was encouraging of his new team-mates’ abilities, choosing one trait he would like to have.

“He has two amazing skills,” he said. “The way he got on the track, a dirt track when it’s very slippery and as we saw clearly last year in Aragon, he’s very tricky.

“We started and he was faster than anyone else. He gave up eight-tenths of a second in qualifying (which was) amazing.

Bagnaia missed out on a third straight title in 2024 by just 10 points, despite having eight more wins than Martin.

It was a huge blow considering he had finished in the top three in each of his last six races.

Márquez blames Bagnaia’s costly mistakes for riskinghe pointed out that defending and winning against his new teammate sometimes pays off.

It will be interesting to see if he tries to give a 5% discount this season to limit his mistakes. With someone of Márquez’s caliber in the garage, it may not be the solution – the frustration is heightened.
