In the second over of the 12th over, Spencer Johnson, who had already powered up after removing Satellite, hit the stumps full and straight and Oliver Peake tried to pull back and play a big shot but missed completely. Jake Fraser-McGurk played a superb innings for Melbourne Renegades with an unbeaten knock of 95 runs off 46 balls laced with five boundaries and eight sixes to win the match. For the Heat, Spencer Johnson, Michael Neser and Paul Walter each grabbed two wickets against the Renegades.
After being named man of the match, Jake Fraser-McGurk said: “We’re delighted with the way we performed today. Everyone contributed today and hopefully some results will come our way. I just wanted to make a start, give the bowlers an early charge. Cricket is a game where you can have a terrible day but you are always just two shots away from turning things around.
