Alonso Lopez led Moto2 World Championship practice on Friday afternoon at Motorland Aragon in Spain. Riding his Sync SpeedUp Boscoscuro on Pirelli Control tires, the Spaniard won the revamped 3.1-mile road course in 1:50.989 to top the field of 32 riders, breaking Sam Laws’ all-time lap record of 2020 of 1:51.296.
Diogo Moreira was second best in the Etaltrans Racing Calex with a time of 1:51.212.
Jake Dixon was third fastest with a 1:51.292 on the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team Kalex.
Lopez’s team-mate Fermin Aldeguer was fourth in 1:51.299.
Aaron Canet rounded out the top five in the Fanatic Racing Calex with a time of 1:51.351.
American Joe Roberts finished 11th in Friday afternoon’s practice with a best time of 1:51.680 for his sole sponsor, American Racing Team Calex.
