The Cincinnati Reds missed the postseason for the fourth straight time, finishing 77-85 and in fourth place in the National League Central.
Since 2013, the Redskins have only made the postseason once, and that ended with them being swept in the wild-card round.
The Redskins have only made a few moves this offseason, but that’s likely due to their young and talented roster that has been developing over the past few years.
One trade the Redskins made this offseason involved acquiring Gavin Lux from the Los Angeles Dodgers.
MLB analyst Cliff Floyd revealed why he thinks the Redskins traded for Lux.
“Put some pressure on what you’ve got in camp,” Floyd said via MLB Network’s “X.”
“Put some pressure on what you have in camp. I think Terry Francona is putting Gavin (Lux) in a position to get a job from one of these guys.”

Although Lux has been productive for the Dodgers in his career, Floyd believes Reds manager Terry Francona could have brought Lux in to make some of the Reds’ players better.
A young and talented Reds squad has underperformed over the last few seasons and Floyd believes this could be a step towards getting more out of them this season.
Lux entered the league in 2019 with the Dodgers and has played all five seasons of his MLB career with the team.
In 2024, Lux played 139 games where he hit .251 with 10 home runs, 50 RBI and a .703 OPS.
The Reds likely won’t have room for Lux to play every day, but he could be brought in to fight for a starting spot and spark some competition on the clubhouse.
