Sikandar Raza declared PSL ‘best’ after IPL 2025


Zimbabwean all-rounder and T20I captain Sikandar Raza has raised many eyebrows with his shocking comments about the Indian Premier League (IPL). After being rejected by all the teams in the recent IPL 2025 mega auction, Raza seems to have lost interest in the tournament.

After being unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, Sikandar Raza’s tone has changed drastically as the Zimbabwean all-rounder has openly admitted that he enjoys the Pakistan Super League (PSL) more. He told Raza that Pakistan Super League (PSL) is more fun and entertaining as compared to Indian Premier League (IPL).

Asked which league he enjoys more, the IPL or the PSL, Raza was quick to pick the T20 franchise tournament from his native Pakistan. Sikandar Raza was quoted by Sports Tak as saying, “I enjoy PSL more. I find PSL more enjoyable. As for enjoyment.”

Meanwhile, Raza, who is all set to represent Lahore Qalandars in the upcoming PSL 2025, denied any disappointment over his snub at the IPL 2025 mega auction. The Zimbabwe captain says he is not disappointed about missing out on this year’s Indian Premier League; rather, he focuses on working harder and trying his luck next time.

Raza explained: “Not at all. I have a very strong faith and belief. What is meant to be is meant to be. If you give your all from a cricketing point of view, whether it’s at the international stage or at the franchise stage, no matter what tournament you’re in, there’s no choice. I’m coming back; I work hard. I’m putting my name on the next project, I’ll see what happens. I am not easily disappointed.”

Meanwhile, Sikandar Raza is the captain of Dubai Capitals in the International League T20 (ILT20) 2025 and he will aim to lead from the front with both bat and ball. Dubai Capitals will next face MI Emirates in the second match of the ongoing ILT20 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium on January 13.
