Here’s how much each player did

The PGA Tour’s first full-field event of the new season brings with it a host of players looking to get 2025 off to a strong start.

While last week the Sentry only had 59 of the best players and winners from last season, Sony Open has a full field of 144 players, many rookies just starting their PGA Tour careers.

And while this week does not present $20 million mega purse of last week’s Signature Event, a top finish could still set the tone ahead of the PGA Tour’s cut from 125 to 100 banned players after this season.

And that’s the key for someone like a native of Hawaii Chan Kim, a second year member of the tournament who made the cut this week for the first time as a member of the PGA Tour.

“As a season opener, just to start getting some points, that’s a really big confidence boost,” the 15-year pro said Saturday.

Kim finished in a tie for 53rd this week after a Sunday 68, which will net him about $20,000 when all is said and done. Nothing crazy, but he starts his year in the plus column as he heads to the airport for a red eye to travel on next week’s American Express.

With that, below is the full payout breakdown for this week Sony opened in Hawaii. The total purse is $8.7 million.
