Arsenal are set to sign Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto on loan for the rest of the season.
According to a report by Sky SportsArsenal have now agreed a deal in principle with the Premier League side and the 35-year-old Brazilian is set to move to north London imminently.
Arsenal have no option or obligation to buy the player permanently at the end of the season. Neto is expected to be a back-up option for David Raya for the rest of the season.
The Gunners sanctioned the departure of Aaron Ramsdale, who joins Southampton on a permanent transfer. The England goalkeeper needed to play regularly at this stage of his career and was desperate to leave the Gunners. Arsenal needed a quality safety option and Neto should be a useful acquisition. He has proved consistent for the Cherries and will be hoping to push Raya for a starting spot this season.
Neto would be a useful addition
The signing of the 35-year-old could prove to be an excellent piece of business for the Gunners. They have provided experienced and proven support for the Spanish goalkeeper without a substantial investment.
It will be interesting to see if they can improve the other areas of their squad before the window closes later today.
Arsenal should look to invest in a goal-scoring winger, who is versatile enough to fill multiple roles. They have a quality squad at their disposal and a couple of smart additions could take them to a whole new level. The Gunners will be looking to push for the title once again this season and a versatile striker could make a huge difference to them.
