Shakur Stevenson thinks Turki Al-Shiekh will make the mega-fight between him and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis in 2025 once he meets the Baltimore native. Tank is going to have a high price tag for the fight. He already says he wants $150 million to fight Ryan Garcia. He might want a similar amount to fight the uninspiring Stevenson.
Can Al-Shiekh deliver?
Stevenson believes Al-Shiekh will be the one to make it worth Tank (30-0, 28 KOs) wanting to fight him. That decision will affect whether Shakur (22-0, 10 KOs) wins his next fight against Floyd Schofield on February 22 next month in Riyadh.
Another bad performance for Stevenson could diminish his chances for a fight against Davis because the last thing he wants to fight is a runner who doesn’t want to stand and engage.
Shakur is just trying to win on points using his hit and kick style, assuming the judges will give him the decision. He almost lost to Edwin De Los Santos, and we saw him get chased around the ring by Robeisy Ramirez and beaten in the Olympics.

“Tell him, ‘Don’t run,'” Stevenson said of his message that he wants Schofield to be told ahead of their fight next month. “He might try to look for a knockout early. Once he realizes he can’t get it, he’s going to be on the back foot.
“I think it’s going to be a tremendous battle. I think he (Turki) is saving boxing. So, once Tank is with him, I think the fights are going to happen,” Shakur said of his belief that Turki Al-Shiekh will make the fight between him and Gervonta Davis once he meets the Baltimore native.
“He sounds like a businessman. I think he wants to make as much money as possible in the sport of boxing. That’s good for him,” Shakur said in response to Tank wanting $150 million for his rematch with Ryan Garcia to happen.
Stevenson’s injury problems
In recent workouts, WBC lightweight champion Shakur used only his left hand and tapped cautiously with his surgically repaired right hand.
The right from him that looks brittle looks like it could fall apart almost immediately once Floyd puts him under pressure in the first round. Stevenson will have no choice but to use to try and keep out the ambitious Golden Boy-promoted Schofield.
If he fights the 22-year-old Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) with just one gun, he will be forced to run all night to avoid being overwhelmed with power shots from the youngster.
