When you have yps, smoothing out your short game can seem like an impossible task. But, with this clever trick from Parker McLachlin, Top 100 GOLF Instructors to Watchyou can cure your game of those jerky and unstable shots.
According to McLachlin, tapping your toe is a great way to cure your bunions. In the clip below, he explains that this hack works because it helps you “turn off” your mental side and shift your focus away from hitting.
And it’s not just good for your mental game. McLachlin says his toe swing will also help improve your weight position during the cut.
“If your weight is positioned too far on your front foot and you try to touch the toe, it’s really hard,” says McLachlin.
Think: back, knock, go
To try McLachlin’s finger-snapping trick, go into your normal shredding setup. Raise the club to the top, touch the toe of your lead foot, and then continue the downswing. Take a few practice swings, playing at different tempos to find the right fit for your game. Then, roll it into a ball to start making firm, firm contact.
