on wednesday, USA Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley continued to add to his leadership team by appointing a third vice-captain. Kevin Kisner will join previously appointed vice-captains Webb Simpson and Brandt Snedeker to help shepherd the US Ryder Cup team at Bethpage Black in September.

“Kevin is a great addition to our leadership group and will be a trusted voice over the coming months and this year’s Ryder Cup,” Bradley said in a press release. “His extensive matchmaking success and strong relationships make him a perfect fit. I look forward to working closely with him as we get ready for Bethpage Black.”

Kisner has never competed in a Ryder Cup, but compiled a 2-2-3 career record in the Presidents Cup. Kisner played on the US team in 2017 and 2022. He also has an impressive record in match play as an individual, winning the 2019 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in 2019 and finishing runner-up in 2018 and 2022.

“I am extremely grateful to Keegan for this opportunity to help lead the US team to the 2025 Ryder Cup,” Kisner said in the release. “I love playing matches and the Ryder Cup is one of the biggest events in the sport. I’m looking forward to being a part of it and looking forward to doing everything I can to support Keegan, Webb, Brandt and our talented team in September.”

Kisner served as assistant captain Jim Furyk in the Presidents Cup in Montreal last year, which the USA won 18.5-11.5 over the internationals. Kisner too made headlines when he confronted international team vice-captain Camilo Villegas about what Kisner considered a play taken too far during Tom Kim and Sungjae Im’s match against Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley.

In December, Kisner was appointed NBC’s new lead analyst and will sit alongside Dan Hicks after a year-long audition process that included tests from Brandel Chamblee and Luke Donald. However, thanks to his vice-captaincy gig, Kisner’s analyst spot will have to be filled for the Ryder Cup. NBC has not yet announced a replacement.

The Ryder Cup begins on September 26 at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, NY
